Spring is coming to North Finland, slowly but firmly. Nature is slowly starting to wake up, just like our band as well as grizzly bears from their winter sleep. And if we were superstitious, we would say the curse is haunting us once again. Not the ‘Curse of the Black Pearl’ but the Curse of the Dark Waters. But little things cannot stop us, they only temporarily slow us down.
Let’s hear the facts.
The single is ready to be mixed and the mixing session starts today. Finally!
The songs for the second (main) recording session are 99.9% finished, and that session is going to start in late April, around Easter, that is. Before that, a lot of lyrics need to be written. And after April, there’s still going to be some smaller recording sessions, so the album is (unfortunately) going to be released in autumn. I just can’t believe it’s already our seventh album…
In addition, in April it’s going to be “our first 20th anniversary” as Andromeda, the first forefather of EToS recorded the first demo “The Fourth Dimension” in April 1992.
And, finally, there’s going to be a music video for us! This video session is going to start in a couple of months.
P.S. RIP Mr. Tonmi Lillman (1973-2012). May your drum solos bang loud wherever you are.
Happy new year 2012 guys and gals! The year 2011 was intriguing for us. We recorded the first half of the forthcoming album. If everything had gone as planned, we would have had our seventh album almost finished by now. However, due to some unfortunate incidents, the second recording session has been rescheduled to next spring.
But anyway, 2012 is going to be an exciting year for us – and we’re probably going to have some exciting news next year! We hope your year will be great, too!
As we already told on our Facebook page, we have finished our first recording session at Tico-Tico Studios.
We are recording this album in two main sessions + some extra sessions throughout this year. This way has proven to be the best for us and our timetables and we’ve been using the same “take it slowly, make it good” method ever since our comeback in 2005.
What we did during the past weeks was recording the basic tracks for six songs. Now, it’s time for a short summer holiday after which we’re going to do the vocals and the keyboard tracks, and, of course, to write more new songs for the second main recording session, which is going to take place at the end of this year.
Trying to verbally describe the new songs is like trying to draw how they sound like. And even if we somehow managed to describe how the new songs sound like, they only represent one half of the forthcoming album.
Anyway, it has been announced that we’re going to play our second (and last) gig in 2011 at http://www.jyrkkafestival.com/ in Pudasjärvi. Which is nice, as this band was formed in the very same town and as a matter of fact, we played our very first gig on the same stage fourteen years ago. And now, after eleven years, we’re coming back to our original home town. Nice.
